MARK SELIGER est né à Amarillo et a grandi a Houston, deux villes
du Texas. Il vit actuellement à NEW YORK où il est depuis bientôt
quinze ans.

Ses photos inventives et souvent drôles ont fait le Tour du Monde. Brad

MARK SELIGER est également un réalisateur de clip video très
apprecié. Il a notamment mis en scène les music-videos de Lenny
Kravitz, Hole, Paula Cole, Nathalie Merchant, sans parler des nombreux clips
publicitaires réalisés entre autre pour GAP.
Mark Seliger was born in Amarillo, Texas and moved to Houston when he was five
years old. He attended the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts there
and later graduated from East Texas State University. Mark worked as a photographerÕs
assistant in Houston for several years before moving to New York.
Seliger began freelancing for Rolling Stone in 1987 and in 1993 became the third
chief photographer in the magazine's history, following in the footsteps of
Annie Leibovitz, who was one of MarkÕs early influences. Also, as a photographer
for Us and MenÕs Journal, he has shot more than a hundred covers. In
1996, Seliger completed a two year project of documenting Holocaust survivors.
The photographs culminated into his first book entitled, When They Came to Take
My Father, Voices of the Holocaust. His latest book, Physiognomy, was published
in 1999. His images from these books and other Rolling Stone stories have been
exhibited around the world. His photographs of musicians and celebrities have
won various awards including the 1999 Alfred Eisenstaedt Photography Award for
a Single Image, which was given for a portrait of Ben Stiller. Mark has also
done editorial and advertising work for clients such as IBM, Nike, American
Express and MTV. His photographs are also in several important museum collections
including the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston. Mark Seliger currently lives and
works in New York City.
