GUESS WHO, Peggy Sirota's debut book is a tongue-in-cheek homage to the celebrity
phenomenon that seems to be present everywhere. Sirota asked various celebrities,
athletes and musicians to lend their image for an AIDS charity. The reader
will be teased, challenged and surprised while looking at the photographs
trying to figure out who's who. For Guess Who 172 personalities play along
and actually let go of their celebrity identity. It is a great visual feast
with a witty sense of humor.
American photographer Peggy Sirota has been shooting celebrities for the last
fifteen years. Commissioned by magazines such as Vanity Fair, Italian Vogue,
French Vogue, Rolling Stone and GQ, her photographs instinctively draw out
her subject's personality, therefore, revealing something essential about
them.
Peggy Sirota was born in 1956 in Massachusetts and presently resides in southern
California. She has been a photographer since 1984 and is self-taught. She
has received numerous awards for her photographs.
